I love reading but there’s a few reasons why reading is important:

  1. It provides an opportunity to learn something new.  Even I am reading a leadership book or something else that I know a lot about there is always some insight that can be gleaned.  I always find it a lot easier than listening to someone or watching a video as the person presenting can get in the way if the message.  Not so with a book unless it is really poorly written.
  2. It provides a great opportunity to relax and de-stress.  I read somewhere that reading a book is more effective at de-stressing than most other “stress relief” activities.  I think it’s the chance to escape into another world that does it better than anything else.
  3. There is no limit on where or how much I can read.  Whereas your budget could put a limit on the movies or music you could buy but reading is free through a library not to mention all the classic books that are available for free and indie authors that publish books for virtually free.

So I am going to spend some more time reading today.

Hope you’re having good weekend and

Remember, life is a journey, enjoy it!
