Finding Time

Time is very elusive.  Before we realise it, we've come to end of another weekend and if you are like most people you don't realise what you spent all that time on. The weekdays on the other hand seem to drag on endlessly like they'll never end. If you have done any time management skills/training or courses one of the frequent things you'll learn is to spend a week writing down everything you do.  This does two things: It takes a lot of time (I really don't have time to write down everything I do) and It can be overwhelming…

Reading Every Book I Own

I have had a few books on my Kindle and on my bookshelf which I have never read.  So I have made one of my goals to read them all.  Ideally this was going to be before I went and bought any more books.  This didn't happen as I have bought plenty of books since then. However I am still trying to get through the list.  So for awhile now I have been trying to read one book in particular and it has been a struggle.  I just have not been able to get into the book.  So I decided…

Blogging Every Day

Blogging itself can be challenging. Finding the time to do it, finding the right ideas and the time to start collecting your thoughts and typing them away on your keyboard.   So add to this the challenge of doing it every day without fail.  This has been my goal this year and it has been challenging to say the least.  I used to struggle for a blog post once or twice a week so every day has really tested me. So if you are looking for the secret to blogging this is it - commitment.  Commit to it like you…

Read 1000 Books

This is one of my very long term goals.  I started it and added 100 books to the list last year as I did a lot of reading then but this year not so much. I was sick of reading for quite a while but am now getting back into it. I think if I read on average 50 books a year I can get there by 2035 so yes this is definitely a long term goal. I did finish another book today so I am now up to 132 books.  Hopefully can get through some more and get up…

Making Your Bucket List Achievable

Your bucket list should stretch you but it should still be achievable.  A long time ago, I knew a guy who had "become president of the United States" on his bucket list. To me that would be very frustrating as it would be extremely unlikely that I could ever achieve it.  Your bucket list should include your goals and dreams but it should be achievable otherwise it will just be a source of frustration to you. I have had take things off my list once they fall into that "not achievable" category and I am glad I did because I…

Farmers Market On Thursday

There is a farmers market on late Thursday afternoon in town and after a few false starts I think I might actually get to it this week. "Going to a Farmers Market" is one of those things that I added to my bucket list when I was running out of things to add.  I am rather excited about it as its been so much trouble just to get to one. Not sure what I am going to do or buy there but we'll see. Getting closer to the time of year to get another flu vaccine.  It did seem to…

Your Bucket List Should Express You

What I mean by that is a bucket list should be a collection of things that define or you wish would define you.  I shared a quote on Twitter this morning about the importance of inner value and not getting distracted and that's what a lot of life is, a distraction to pull us away from what truly matters. So if the busyness of life gets in the way, we get pulled away from the things that are important to us and our dreams and goals ( our bucket list).  So it is really important to stay focused and to…

Another week about to start

As I prepare for another week I've decided to make my schedule a bit more normal by taking study out of the equation this semester. It will allow me to focus on some side projects while working this year. Besides that, I was on the verge of working 60+ hours a week and this well let me get back to some sort of normalcy again. Hope you have a good weekend and Remember, life is a journey, enjoy it!

Still A Long Way To Go

So I've started the process of sorting through some of my excess stuff.  Needless to say I've still got a long way to go.  I did however get some more books for my collection which I'll probably start to read tomorrow. No garage sales or markets this weekend as I've got far too much stuff already! Hope you're having a good weekend and Remember, life is a journey, enjoy it!

Another weekend is here

So this weekend I will probably spend most of it sorting out stuff that I can get rid of and stuff I can keep. Not the most exciting way to spend the weekend but it is something that has to be done and I don't have any other commitments this weekend so it is a good opportunity to do that. As for my bucket list it will be one of those rare weekends where I don't do anything for my bucket list.  This is a good thing as it's nice to take a break every once and a while. Speaking…
