Managing Your Bucket List
So now you’ve spent some time and you’ve got your bucket list scribbled down on a piece of paper but now what do you do?
You’ve got to start being able to manage it.
There are a few ways to do this. You can go old school and use a diary/notebook and using a bit of maths work backwards and work out what you need to do and when.
For example, if I want to visit China first on my list must to be get a passport (if I haven’t already) so I need to make sure I have the right documentation and the money for the fees and allow plenty of time from the time I apply to when I have to go on my trip.
Next, I need to set savings goals so I can save up for my trip. I also need to apply for time off from work so I can go on holidays.
So I write down each of these goals in my notebook and work out a daily and weekly goal for each. For example, saving an extra $50 a week and track my progress using a diary. The important thing is to leave enough time to accomplish each of these goals – you don’t want to be asking for three weeks’ holiday a month and a half before you go – allow six months so you can make sure it gets approved.
There are also lots of apps you can use to manage and record your progress.
Let’s take a look at a few of them.
