A couple of years ago a recruiter that I know very well called me up and wanted to know if I would like to be put forward for a position.  This position qualifies as one that is way above my experience level as it was:

  • double my normal salary
  • in charge of the finance for a health organisation with branches in other cities
  • a panel interview (which I’ve only had one other panel interview in all the interviews I’ve ever had)
  • and I also had no experience in the health industry

I left the interview thinking it went well but expected someone else to get it plus I didn’t know how I’d handle the extra responsibility but I was also hopeful at the same time.

I didn’t get the job in the end but they said it was a very close call but I was glad that I had taken the chance to apply for such an opportunity.
