Follow a Rainbow

Why You Should "Follow A Rainbow" I love this idea for a bucket list goal - one it is very cheap to do but it also is a way of reliving your childhood - did you ever wonder what was at the end of a rainbow? Of course another think about this goal is that it is pretty hard to manufacture it, to plan it or to "think it out".  You simply have to wait for the rain to come before any chance of a rainbow appearing can occur. The other thing is that rain can occur at the most…

How to Pursue a Bucket List with Zero Money

January is that time of year when the credit card bills start to arrive and that post-Christmas "I have no money" feeling starts to set in.  Of course when this happens all our bucket list goals can seem very far away and we can lose hope of ever achieving them. This doesn't have to be the case.  You can still pursue lots of bucket list goals that cost nothing or next to nothing (less than $20).  I wrote a book in early December on 30 bucket list goals that are not only cheap but fun to do! Buy 30 Cheap…

Travel On Your Own

This is something that I've been seeing more and more on people's bucket lists and it does have its advantages.  I don't know about you but I feel constrained if I have to travel anywhere with someone else.  Probably because I have to take their feelings into consideration about what they want to do. On your own however you are free to choose where you want to go, how you want to get there and what you want to do.  It is very freeing.  As an adult, I think I've only gone on one holiday with someone else and the…

Being Consistent with your Bucket List Goals

There a lot of things that you need to accomplish your bucket list goals - good finances, time to do all those things you want to do but the most important thing you need to do is be consistent. If your goal is to get a college degree you need to consistently study.  If you don't, you may end up failing and end up dropping out of college without accomplishing your goal. Another example is having a successful blog (which is a lot of people's goals).  There are a lot of things you need to do - have successful SEO,…

Planning To Go Hiking

I wrote a post yesterday about preparing to go for a hike in a rain forest but the one thing that you definitely do.  That is, to start planning where you want to go. There are a couple of things you have to take into consideration.  Do you want it to be a half day, full day or more multiple day hike?  The type of hike you choose will largely depend on: Your fitness level.  If you don't exercise much and don't make time for the gym then doing a multiple day hike is probably not a good idea.  Choose a…

What to do before you go hiking

I have been on a few rain forest hiking trails during my life and before you go hiking in a rain forest there's a few things you should take with you before you go: take plenty of water - this is a must.  You can't go the tap to get some more water if you run out and start to feel dehydrated.  A good rule of thumb is to take twice as much as you need so you can ensure you don't run out. wear good, solid walking boots or shoes - you need to make sure your shoes are sturdy…

Why You Should Hike In A Rainforest

I've been think about doing a series on different bucket list goals, how to go about them and how to achieve them.  This I think only works if I do ones that I have already done so in the first in this series I've chosen "hiking in a rainforest".  If you have suggestions of future topics I am open to suggestions as well, please leave a comment and I'll do my best to accommodate you. So this is something I have done, on multiple occasions so here's a few reasons why you might want to do it: It gives you…

Three Bucket List Ideas to Add To Your Bucket List In 2016

It's hard to believe that already we are into the second week of 2016.  Crazy.  I have recently added a couple of things to my own bucket list and it got me thinking.  If I was starting a new bucket list what three things would I have to add this year. Here's my top three: Go To The Australian Open - With Lleyton Hewitt playing in his last grand slam this would be a must see if I was doing a list this year.  In addition, the top four will be winding down their careers over the next few years…

Finish Reading 100 Books in a Year

On the weekend I finished reading my last book for the year and it was a blessing to finish early as I've had the misfortune of having a sore throat for the last few days. That said I thought it was probably time to write about my experience given that I finished a few days ago now. A lot of the books I was reading were part of other challenges that I had been pursuing - other authors I wanted to read.  So the reward was that I was pursuing goal while working on another at the same time. The…

Finishing Seeing 100 Movies in a Year

Over the weekend I finished seeing 100 movies in a year.  It's given me the opportunity to see lots of great movies during the year (and some not so great ones) and lots to blog about too.  Some days I don't know what I would blog about if I couldn't write about the latest movie that I'd seen. One of the reasons I wanted to do this is basically to see if I could.  In past years I've seen roughly 30-40 movies a year and never close to 100.  That included seeing a couple movies twice or three times so…
